Pupil Leadership

At Sarum St Paul's, we believe that every child has the potential to be a leader. Inspired by our vision of being Rooted in Love, Growing Together, we provide opportunities for children to serve others, take responsibility and make a positive difference within our school community.

Leadership at Sarum St Paul's is not about being in charge. It is about showing character, setting a positive example and helping others to flourish. Through a range of leadership opportunities, our children develop confidence, responsibility, teamwork and communication skills while learning how to contribute to the life of our school and the wider world.

Our pupil leaders play an important role in helping us live out our values of Love, Community, Courage and Growth every day.

House Captains

Year 6 House Captains are ambassadors for our school and leaders within their houses. They encourage participation in house events, celebrate achievements and help to build a strong sense of teamwork and belonging. As role models for younger children, they also support school events, welcome visitors and help staff with a range of responsibilities throughout the year.

School Council

Our School Council ensures that children's voices are heard and valued. Representatives from across the school work together to share ideas, discuss improvements and help shape school life. Through their role, they learn about responsibility, democracy and the importance of listening to and representing others.

Hedgehog Helpers

Our Hedgehog Helpers are Year 6 pupils who support the children in Reception. They help our youngest pupils settle into school life, build confidence and feel part of the school community. Through their kindness, patience and encouragement, they develop leadership skills while forming positive relationships with younger children.

Kindness Ambassadors

Our Kindness Ambassadors help to promote a culture of care, inclusion and compassion throughout the school. They look for ways to support others, encourage friendship and ensure that everyone feels welcomed and valued. Through their actions, they help bring our value of Love to life.

Worship Leaders – coming September 2026

Our Worship Leaders help to support collective worship across the school. They contribute ideas, help lead prayers and reflections and encourage others to engage thoughtfully with our vision, values and Christian faith. This role is in development as we seek to give children an even greater voice in shaping worship at Sarum St Paul's.

Growing Future Leaders

At Sarum St Paul's, we want every child to know that they can make a difference. Through leadership opportunities, children learn to serve others, take responsibility and contribute positively to their community. In doing so, they develop the confidence, character and compassion that will help them flourish both now and in the future.
